Frequently asked questions

How do I know if it's rising damp or condensation?+

A moisture meter survey is the only honest way. Rising damp is rare in homes built after 1900; condensation is far more common.

Do you offer a guarantee on damp treatments?+

Yes — chemical DPC and tanking works come with a manufacturer-backed guarantee (usually 20 years) plus our own workmanship warranty.

Will you re-decorate after the damp treatment?+

Yes. Every damp job finishes with re-plastering and decoration so you get a finished room, not a stripped-out shell.

How long before I can decorate over new damp render?+

Salt-retardant render needs to dry naturally — typically 4–6 weeks per 25mm of thickness before decorating in a breathable paint.

Can you fit a PIV (Positive Input Ventilation) unit?+

Yes — PIV units from Nuaire and EnviroVent are one of the most effective, low-cost fixes for condensation-driven damp and mould.
