Frequently asked questions

How long does an EICR take?+

A 3-bed house typically takes 2–4 hours. HMOs and larger properties longer.

Do you install EV chargers?+

Yes — 7kW home chargers including OZEV-aligned installs and consumer unit upgrades where required.

How often do I need an EICR?+

Rented properties in England legally need an EICR every 5 years. Owner-occupied homes are recommended every 10 years, or on purchase.

Can you upgrade an old fuse board to an RCD consumer unit?+

Yes — modern 18th Edition boards with dual RCD or RCBO protection are one of our most common jobs. Usually a 1-day install.

Do you carry out full house rewires?+

Yes — from single-storey bungalows to 3-storey HMOs. We work to minimise chase-out damage and coordinate with your plasterer if required.

Can you add smart lighting and switches?+

Yes — Lightwave, Hue, Shelly and Loxone all supported. We install the wiring correctly so smart devices are properly loaded and neutral-served.
